How does Havebury deal with anti-social behaviour?

We take all reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and have a wide range of processes we can use to deal with such incidents. There are many different types of anti-social behaviour ranging from noise and minor disagreements through to serious intimidation and violence.

As well as our own officers, we work closely with other agencies such as the Police, Environmental Health, Residents Groups, Town, Borough and County Councils etc.

At a local level we attend the police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team tasking meetings where anti-social behaviour is discussed and priorities are agreed each month on issues that need addressing in the community. We are also involved with national organisations such as The Social Landlord's Crime and Nuisance Group where we can get information about the latest developments and share best practice on dealing with anti-social behaviour. Havebury have signed up to the Government’s Respect agenda as part of our commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour. You can find more information about this by following this link. Reporting such behaviour to us
If you are experiencing problems and need help or advice please contact your local office and ask to speak to the Neighbourhood Co-ordinator that deals with your area.

Alternatively, you may:
• call the ASB hotline FREE on 0800 0758 999 (outside of office hours this goes to an answering machine where you can leave a message and contact number. We will call you back the next working day) Calls are usually free of charge from landlines but charges normally apply from mobiles.
• report online by clicking on 'Report anti-social behaviour to us' below

Remember fly tips, abandoned vehicles and graffiti are all examples of anti-social behaviour and they can be reported using the hotline or the online facility.

Serious incidents
For serious incidents where a crime has been committed (for example if you have been assaulted), report this to the police straight away.

Report anti-social behaviour to us
A very important tool for us in gathering evidence is for people to use diary sheets to record details of incidents affecting them. This gives us a better picture of how people are being affected and ultimately these sheets are very good evidence if we have to take a case to court.

If you report a problem to us we will send you diary sheets as part of the pack we use to deal with anti social behaviour. A copy can be downloaded from the link below but please let us know of any problems affecting you by contacting us as soon as possible.
