Allotments
If you are interested in joining our waiting list for an allotment, please email your address and a contact telephone number to office@havebury.com. A member of the Havebury team will contact you to discuss your interest further.

Estate Inspections
You can join other residents, local councillors and representatives from Suffolk Police and other interested parties to walk around the estate and identify areas of concern such as a broken fence or litter. This year, we are giving you more opportunities to get involved by increasing estate inspections from twice a year to four times. Click here to read the timetable » Estate Inspections 2010

Some of the actions identified last year were:
• Wooden steps on the Priors estate were identified as being slippery and so were refurbished with concrete ones.
• A damaged tree on the Howard estate was felled, after a professional assessment, to ensure the safety of all residents in the area.
• The ceiling of a walkway on the Chalkstone Estate was identified as needing a repaint and this work has now been ordered
• Several incidents of Graffiti were spotted and subsequently dealt with on the Clements Estate

Other actions, carried out in conjunction with St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Havebury contractors include; the removal of fly tips, litter and abandoned vehicles, replanting, and shrub pruning, all of which have considerably enhanced estates. You will be kept up to date on the progress of any actions that are identified during your estate inspection.

To help us improve the look and feel of your estate, please do come and join us at an inspection where you and your comments can be looked at by our Neighbourhood Team. For further information telephone 08456 123 851.

Decent Neighbourhood Standard
We want to encourage all residents to take an interest in making their neighbourhoods clean, peaceful and safe places to live. To help achieve this, Havebury has set out a Decent Neighbourhood Standard. We will continue to work closely with other agencies such as local councils, the police and other social landlords to achieve the targets laid out in this Standard. Please take the time to read the Standard and feedback any comments to office@havebury.com

Havebury Improving Places Group
The Havebury Improving Places Group (HIPG) was set up in April 2008 with a dedicated budget to spend on improving communal areas around Havebury homes. They meet every two months and representatives from the Tenants Forum, Residents Associations, Safer Neighbourhood Teams and St Edmundsbury Council make up the group. Projects so far have included fencing, landscaping, parking projects, lighting etc. and all of them have helped improved the quality of life for residents in the area. The group is very interested in projects submitted by residents and Havebury staff are always willing to assist with putting applications together.
You can find out more about the group by following this link:

The Good Neighbour Charter
At the moment we are providing information on Improvements to Havebury properties in your area and our service standards on dealing with Anti-Social behaviour. Everyone has the right to enjoy life in their own way providing they do not upset people living near them. This charter is intended to help you fully understand your responsibilities as tenants of Havebury whilst enhancing community spirit within your neighbourhood. A good neighbour will tolerate and understand the different lifestyles of others. Please be considerate of others. This charter has been developed by Havebury’s Tenants’ Forum, for all tenants. Tenants have responsibilities and can encourage community spirit by working together. We all want to live a peaceful and pleasant lifestyle in our own surroundings – so we have put together a few guidelines to help us all do just that.
