Havebury employees gear up to success in cycling challenge
Employees from Havebury Housing Partnership, the leading Social housing and affordable housing provider in Suffolk have been in ‘wheelie’ high spirits, after taking part in an exciting week-long National Bike Week cycling challenge!
Havebury’s Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill employees were encouraged to cycle whenever possible throughout the week.
The cycling challenge also involved the re-launch of a number of its pool bikes, as well as two temporary exercise bikes for employees to use during their lunch hours in the office.
National Bike week, which had the aim of promoting healthy living and sustainable travel within the workforce culminated in 346 miles being cycled. During Havebury’s Bike Week, there was a noticeable increase in the number of commutable travels by employees from and to work.
Katy Frith, HR Manager at Havebury Housing Partnership, said:
“We’re delighted to see that there has been positive engagement from employees during bike week and the fantastic results speaks for itself.
Going forward, hopefully, this will not only reduce the environmental impacts of day-to-day activities, but it will also help save time and money, as well as encouraging a healthier workforce.”
