Havebury's Policy regarding fencing of your garden
Havebury's Fencing Policy
Havebury has a fencing policy to clarify our responsibilities in providing and maintaining fences around your home.
We will always mark out a boundary between the gardens of properties with post and wire fencing, with one 6ft larch lap privacy panel attached to the property.
Existing fences will be repaired unless it is considered uneconomic to do so, in which case it will be replaced with post and wire.
New fencing will only be provided to the boundaries of rear gardens where there are significant safety, security or privacy issues.
We will provide new fencing:
- Where there is a public right of way adjacent to the boundary;
- Where the garden adjoins land belonging to another organisation or individual;
- Where there is a hazard such as a stream or severe drop at the edge of the property, or
- Where the provision of the fence would prevent people from looking into the main living spaces of the property.
We will offer the option for tenants to pay the difference to upgrade the fencing that we would provide under this policy. For instance, if we are providing post and wire fencing, the tenant could choose to upgrade this to larch lap panels by paying the difference in cost.
If you would like to upgrade your fencing, please contact the team at email@example.com
