Most major electricity suppliers have signed up to the warm homes discount scheme. This means pensioners on Guaranteed Credut should automatically receive £140 off their bills this winter.
Each provider has a broad group of customers that they offer grants to and those on income-based employment and support allowance (ESA), job seekers allowance (JSA), disability living allowance (DLA) or maximum child tax credit, as well as low income pensioners, can apply direct from their electricity provider. Please note that residents must have a bill in their own or their partner’s name to be eligible for the warm homes discount.
Tenants with pre-payment meters are also eligible. Some schemes have limits to how many can claim, from the broader group, so make sure you apply today!
