Havebury Housing Partnership is today celebrating being awarded Investors in People Silver accreditation.
The award scheme run by UK Commission for Employment and Skills, with the support of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, is designed to get businesses to improve their working culture, make sure employees are fully engaged and encourage great leadership.
The assessment demonstrated that Havebury met all the requirements for the Investors in People award. Havebury achieved a silver accreditation after going beyond the required standard to meet an additional 87 indicators from the wider Investors in People framework.
In her December 2014 report, assessor Viv Scott praised Havebury’s approach to social and financial inclusion for their tenants. She said; “Corporate Social Responsibility is a very large part of Havebury’s normal remit and as well as providing affordable homes there is a very wide range of additional support services to tenants such as careers advice and guidance, signposting to financial support and provision of local social activities (to name but a few). In addition there is much work on insulation of properties to reduce fuel bills with plans for installing PV panels to improve this further. Charity work is supported and additional funds added by the organisation where people raise money for different good causes.”
Ms Scott also comments positively on the Havebury’s ongoing commitment to developing their employees skills and their focus on customer service. “There is a range of opportunities for everyone to develop leadership capabilities. Potentialmanagers have access to management development activities and there are opportunities to act up in a role, lead on improvement projects and lead on a specialist area and share expertise with others.”
She also noted that “Everyone is very committed and dedicated to Havebury’s overall purpose and priorities and was keen to help in whatever way they could to support improvements. They are extremely proud to work here.”
Responding to news of the award, Karen Mayhew, Chief Executive of Havebury, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for the organisation. It is a credit to all employees and a reflection of their commitment and dedication. It will be seen positively by our customers, partners and regulator.”
