Havebury officially opens £1.6m Greenwood Close development

Havebury Housing Partnership officially opened its new homes at Greenwood Close on 4th March 2015.

The ceremony was attended by residents of the close, the team from Havebury, Orwell Housing, St. Edmundsbury Borough Council and members of the Haverhill Town Council. They watched the unveiling of a plaque in recognition of the new development by Cllr Anne Gower. Refreshements followed at St. Felix Church.

Havebury’s new £1.6 million scheme, £300,000 of which was from a Government grant through the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), provides four 4 bedroom, four 3 bedroom and three 2 bedroom affordable homes, as well as two 2 bedroom bungalows.

Mansell Balfour Beatty undertook the build work, and the homes were designed to meet HCA design quality standards. As well as 13 new properties, work on the site included major improvements to existing car parking provision and Highways.
