Employees from Havebury gave up their time to litter pick and provide ‘benefit advice’ sessions as part of Give & Gain Day – the UK’s only national employee volunteering day – on Friday 15 May.
Give & Gain Day is a celebration of the incredible power of employee volunteering. Businesses across the UK are driven by their skilled and experienced staff, while community organisations, social enterprises, and schools across the country can benefit from the support of business volunteers.
Litter picks took place on the Priors and Vinefields estates in Bury St Edmunds, with 19 bags of rubbish being collected and removed from the estates.
Paul Finch from our Income Team also took part in the initiative offering benefits advice sessions within two of Havebury’s sheltered schemes. This also proved successful with residents booking longer appointments to discuss in more detail, the benefits they may be entitled to.
Philip Sullivan, Director of Operations at Havebury said; “Through taking part in initiatives such as Give and Gain Day, we are able to harness the knowledge and goodwill of our employees and play a role in helping our communities prosper.
I would like to commend our volunteers on their commitment to improving our local communities and supporting our residents.”
