100th birthday: A century of happiness for Henry

Henry lives in one of our sheltered housing schemes in Bury St Edmunds. He was joined by over 60 family members and friends to celebrate the milestone.

A 100th birthday celebration for Henry!

The party was held in the communal area at Beetons Lodge.

It included a large board displaying ‘the history of Henry Williams’ as well as an impressive cake.

Henry is a father of four, grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 12. Having served in the Navy during World War Two, he has his fair share of history. He moved from London to Bury St Edmunds three years ago to be close to his son and daughter-in-law. Henry’s family describe him as an ‘outgoing and independent’ character. He keeps active and loves to watch the wrestling on television.

Henry’s party was the second 100th birthday that Havebury attended in the space of three months. With Jenny Williams of Northgate Lodge in Bury St Edmunds turning 100 in November 2016.

Philip Sullivan, Director of Operations at Havebury Housing Partnership, said. “What a wonderful event to celebrate. We hope Henry and his family enjoyed the party. We thank them for allowing us to be part of his special day.”
