Halloween 2020: Don’t be ghoulish this year.. stay alert and stay safe!

2020 has been a strange year for us all so far, and sometimes we may not think about the impact it has had on our children! Remaining sensible and safe are the key messages but that doesn’t mean that festivities need to stop.

Halloween 2020 is not going to be cancelled!

Social distancing, rules of 6 and potential lockdowns won’t dampen this years Halloween spirit! It just means you must get creative to ensure you have some skele-fun!

Here are our top ideas to give the neighbours pumpkin to talk about…

1) Halloween Games

Get the whole household involved in bobbing for apples, pin the spider on the web or even a scavenger hunt. Find more great ideas here.

2) Ghosting

A great way to show someone you are thinking of them. All you need to do is make a bag of Halloween-themed goodies and leave it on a friend’s or neighbor’s doorstep.

3) Halloween Baking

Trick or treat? For us it always has to be a treat, so why not cook up a storm and create some freakishly good food. The BBC has some great ideas here. From spider biscuits to pastry snakes and all the monsters in between.

4) Halloween playlist

Get the music on and have a dance around the house! Everyone loves a good boogie especially when you can’t leave the house. Check on spotify or youtube for the most spooktacular playlists.

5) Pumpkin spotting

Alot of families in the local area are encouraged to colour in pumpkins and stick them in their windows. So instead of the traditional trick or treating why not take the kids to count how many pumpkins they can spot!

6) Get crafty

Halloween has always been about the imagination. so why not set up a crafting table in the home and let the kids go wild creating their own scary monsters, creepy zombies or freaky witches. You can get your craft materials here.

7) Host a virtual party

Having to distance yourself from the people you love is no fun. Especially if you had planned to celebrate together. Why not host a virtual Halloween party and combine all the ideas together!

8) Most importantly.. dress up and have fun!
