We need tenant Committee members

We are currently looking for two tenants to join our Committees; one tenant to join our Operations Committee, and one tenant to join our Development Committee.

By joining a committee it’s a really exciting opportunity for you to help us shape our services and ensure that your voice is being heard loud and clear in everything we do.

What do we need from you?

You can access the respective role descriptions below, but most importantly, we ask that you draw on your experience of being a tenant. It is helpful if you’ve got basic computer skills as you will need to access and read Committee papers online plus attend virtual meetings on TEAMS. We can help with equipment and support if needed. If you have never taken part in a more formal meeting before, we know it can be rather daunting at first, but everyone is very friendly and welcoming, and you will soon settle in!

We will carry out some basic checks. We need to ensure that you are fit to hold office, are not bankrupt or insolvent, and have the capacity to carry out your duties.

More about the roles of the committee

If you would like to be a member of the Development committee your main purpose will be to provide feedback to the Strategic Board that the Development Committee have confidence in the performance of the ambitious development programme to deliver 1250 new affordable homes over the next five years.

If you would like to be a member of the Operations committee your main purpose will be to provide feedback to the Strategic Board that the Operations committee have confidence in the performance, quality and value for money of all services provided to our tenants. This includes tenancy services, customer services, resident engagement, property management, repairs, community projects and support services for our more vulnerable tenants.

What you will get in return

For your time and commitment, we will pay you £4,000 per year, subject to tax. You can also claim expenses for any related travel (e.g. taxis) and any childcare. You will initially be appointed for a term of three years, which can be renewed for a further three years. The maximum an individual can serve is six years in total.

I am interested, how can I apply?

Just simply email us setting out your basic details, name, address, contact information.

We ask that you jot down a paragraph or two outlining what you feel you have to offer to us, any experience that you think might be relevant – although as we say we can provide training and support and anything else you’d like to tell us.

You can send us an email by clicking here.

If we want to take it further we’ll give you a call and set up an opportunity to come and meet with us for an informal interview.
