Join the new Social Housing Quality Resident Panel

The government is looking for volunteers to join a new panel to help improve social housing.

The new Social Housing Quality Resident Panel will be made up of around 250 social housing residents from across the country, to discuss measures to improve the quality of social housing.

The Panel will focus on measures proposed in the Social Housing White Paper and include:

  • Reviewing the Decent Homes standard and qualities of homes
  • Improving complaints processes, including resident’s confidence in these
  • Training and qualifications available to housing staff

To find out more about this, visit the government’s webpage here.

If selected you will meet virtually, to ensure a diverse range of residents across England can be included, with between three to six meetings a year being held.

What’s in it for me?

It’s a chance to have your voice heard in the heart of government. Key ministers responsible for social housing will also be involved.

The roles are voluntary, and therefore payments are not received for being part of this panel.

Who can apply to join the panel?

Any resident can apply. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a resident, and you don’t need formal committee or resident group experience.

How can I apply?

You can apply here. The application takes around 10 minutes to complete.

Applications will close on Friday 29 April 2022.

Good luck with your application!
