“I joined the Strategic Board as a co-opted member in May 2018, having worked with the housing association sector since 1990. For 10 years I was a board member of a South Midlands Housing Group, serving as Group Chair for the last five years. My professional career was with a major financial institution where for much of the time I specialised in financing housing associations. I have a keen interest in affordable rural housing issues, sport and the natural environment.”

“I joined the Havebury Board in September 2013, and was re-appointed for a further three years a the AGM in October 2016. As well as my position in the Strategic Board, I am also Vice-Chair of the Operations Committee at Havebury.

I am now a non-practicing solicitor having retired from full-time work in 2011, but now occupying the detailed non-executive positions. My previous roles have included being a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Julian Support Limited, and being a Governing Body Member, Chair of the Patient Experience Safety and Quality Committee Engagement Panel and a Member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee at the Governing Body North Norfolk (and Broadland) Clinical Commissioning Group.

Having been involved in the sector as a lawyer for a number of years and as a former board member and chair of a Leeds inner city HA it seemed sensible to use my skills at Havebury. I have a strong sense of social purpose and believe that I should contribute if I can.

I have two children who are both grown up; one is a lawyer and the other is a psychologist. I’m a Sailing Instructor (RYA qualified) and volunteer at Nancy Oldfied Trust teaching disadvantaged/disabled children adults to sail. I’m an enthusiastic racer of boats on the Norfolk Broads and an interest in all things that float and have a sail.”

“I have over 35 years’ experience of development, new business and asset management working primarily in the housing association sector in the East of England, East & West Midlands, London and the South East.

I am currently Director of Noryl Consulting Ltd. which I set up in October 2017 to provide consultancy services to organisations working to provide new affordable homes.

Prior to this I was Head of Design & Construction at Circle Housing Group (now Clarion), one of the larger housing associations in the UK.  This involved a group-wide role in ensuring quality of housing delivery for customers as well as providing technical support to the department on large multi-tenure projects.

Before that I spent 10 years as Regional Development Director at Circle covering the East of England, East and West Midlands, generating and delivering up to 1,000 homes per annum across the region, including affordable rent, shared ownership, market rent and market sale tenures, together with specialist housing for older residents.

I have a BSc. in Building gained from Nottingham Trent University in 1980 and an MSc. in Property Development (Project Management) from London South Bank University in 1994.

I’m married with 2 grown up children and my interests include reading and music. I’m also a keen cyclist and spend quite a lot of time in the garden.”

“I am a hardworking and experienced commercial property surveyor with 16 years’ experience dealing with the sale, letting and marketing of property and land in the office, industrial & retail sectors as well as residential land sales and commercial development sites in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas. I am very passionate about the town and heavily involved in the local business community holding governance and trustee roles with a number of organisations.”
