Havebury Housing team up with The Sporting Memories Foundation
Havebury Housing Partnership have teamed up with The Sporting Memories Foundation to encourage the over 50’s to engage and reminisce over their love of sport.
The Sporting Memories Foundation host events and groups all over the country inviting any sports fans over the age of 50 to meet and reminisce about playing or watching sport whilst having the opportunity to take part in physical activities and accessible sports.
Richard Hunt, Suffolk Project Coordinator for Sporting Memories joined Mel Warner, Ella Barnett & Hayley Lambert from Havebury Housing at the first successful session last week at Havebury’s independent living scheme, St Edmunds Place in Bury St Edmunds. Everyone that came along had the opportunity to discuss their favourite sporting memory over a cuppa’ and a slice of cake.
The group discussed sporting legends, what sport they liked to play at school and played a game of ‘guess the tune’. The session ended on a very competitive yet enjoyable game of Bocce (very similar to British bowls).
