Who are we?
We are a not-for-profit independent Housing Association based in Bury St Edmunds, with homes throughout East Anglia. We design and maintain high-quality homes while reinvesting our income in our existing homes and communities and our development programme.
This enables us to build new homes and help to satisfy the need for Affordable Housing in the region. We build homes that meet Nationally Designed Space Standards, meaning our properties have ample storage with well-proportioned rooms and gardens.
Our homes are well insulated to keep running costs as low as possible, and we have our own team of specialist technicians to maintain our properties. We offer homes for rent to people on the housing register and those who wish to buy a home via Shared Ownership.
We hope you will support the proposed scheme and if you are interested in bidding on one of these homes, we would recommend you register your interest with Home Link.
For more information on Shared Ownership and to register for an opportunity to buy a home this way, please visit the Help to Buy website.

What happens next?
We will use this feedback to help inform the next phase of our design process before the application is submitted to planning. If suggested changes are not made, we will explain why in a separate statement of community involvement.
Once the planning application is submitted to the local authority, you will have a further chance to comment formally. You can also get in touch with us at Havebury and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.
Positive comments are just as important to a planning application as negative ones. So, if you are in favour of the scheme, please show your support by commenting on the application.
The application will be submitted to West Suffolk Council in Summer 2021.
Timings and consultation
Following submission, the council will have 13 weeks to make their decision. You will have the opportunity to make formal comments to the council in respect of the proposals at that time. If planning permission is granted, Havebury would expect to start on-site towards the end of 2021/start of 2022. The construction phase is likely to take approximately one year.
