We’re looking for a new resident member to join the committee.
Being a member of REC
- The committee meets up to six times a year, usually at our office in Bury St Edmunds
- Alongside this, the committee take part in two full training days
- There is also a range of online training opportunities to help build your knowledge of Havebury and the wider housing sector
- Committee meeting papers are sent out two weeks before the meeting to ensure members have the time to read them in advance of the meeting
- REC members will receive a fee of £3,623 a year (paid monthly). You can claim expenses such as transport and childcare. You’ll also be provided with a laptop and have an induction and a buddy to support you
Skills and experience
We’re looking for residents who:
- Have a natural curiosity and are enthusiastic and passionate about housing and our communities
- Are comfortable using technology, as some meetings are held via Microsoft Teams and communication is primarily by email
- Are able to maintain confidentiality
- Can use their lived experience of being a resident to help shape and improve the services we provide
