We’re excited to launch our Sustainable Green Space Award, celebrating the amazing efforts our residents are making to create greener, more environmentally friendly outdoor spaces.
If you think you have an outdoor space that champions sustainability (no matter how small) we want to hear about it.
Here is what the judges will be looking for:
- Environmental impact (for example: water conservation, composting, self-watering planters)
- Biodiversity and wildlife support (for example: pollinator plants, bird feeders, bug hotels, ponds)
- Resourcefulness and sustainability (for example: reused materials, peat-free gardening, compost use)
- Creativity and innovation (for example: use of small spaces, DIY solutions, creative planters or structures)
- Inspiration and replicability (for example: budget friendly ideas, how simple or original something is)
Each of the above categories will be scored out of 10 and the outdoor space that scores the highest will be crowned as the winner.
We will have two categories for this award; one for an individual outdoor space and one for a communal outdoor space.
Further information
Entries will need to be submitted to us by 21 July, our internal team of judges will then create a shortlist. Our judging panel will then come and visit those shortlisted spaces on Tuesday 28 July – it’s important that if you are shortlisted you are around for that date or that our judges can get access to your nominated outdoor area.
If you would like to be involved, please complete the form below. Don’t forget to give us as much detail as possible linked to the judging criteria and remember, we are looking for the sustainable impact your outdoor space has, not on the amount of features.
Good luck.
