The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) inspects housing providers like us every four years, to assess how well we’re delivering our regulatory requirements.

There are three key areas, with each being awarded a score between 1 and 4, with one being the highest.

Governance (G) – Assesses how well we’re run.

Viability (V) – Assesses how financially strong we are.

Consumer (C) – This is a new rating which assesses housing associations against the new consumer standards and it came into force on 1 April 2024. You can read more about these here. These standards strengthen the accountability for housing providers in delivering good quality homes and services. We were one of the first providers to have this included as part of the inspection.

Our regulatory grading was published 25 September 2024, and we are pleased to share that we maintained our G1/V2 ratings, and we were also awarded a C1.

The RSH gathered information through observing our Resident Experience Committee and a Board meeting, speaking to residents, interviewing the Executive team and reviewing documents.

You can read the judgement in full here.

Our partners

Independent East

We have come together with Broadland Housing Association, Freebridge Community HousingOrwell Housing and Saffron Housing Trust to form Independent East, with the aim of sharing knowledge, experience and good practice, and creating a collective lobbying voice for social housing in the region.

We work with BuildEast, who champion our sector, our communities and it’s members.

We work collaboratively with them by sharing our knowledge, experience and insight to support our communities to grow, thrive and achieve their ambitions.

As well as providing homes that are fit for the future across the East.

HCP is a group of housing associations managing thousands of homes between them and have ambitious plans to build many more.

They are local housing experts with a proven track record of delivering homes and supporting people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and know affordable home provision is crucial for the overall sustainability of our region. Using skills, knowledge and awareness of the local area, to work with partners, to make the most of the region’s housing resources.

PlaceShapers are a national network of place-shaping housing organisations committed to supporting thriving communities and places. They support and enable organisations to fulfil organisations place-shaping ambitions. Their vision is to put place-shaping at the heart of decision-making.

Launched in December 2025, the Norfolk and Suffolk Housing Partnership is a new collaboration bringing together housing providers and local authorities across two counties, chaired by James Francis, CEO, Saffron Housing Trust and supported by Louise Hillier, NASHP.

The purpose is simple; to prepare to work in partnership with the Mayor to address housing challenges and deliver impactful solutions for communities in Norfolk and Suffolk.

We’re proud to work with local charities like St Nicholas Hospice, REACH and Gatehouse, who make such a difference to people’s lives. From food and monetary donations to sponsorship, and raising awareness so more residents know about the vital services they offer. By supporting these charities, we hope to strengthen our communities and ensure help is there for anyone who needs it.

We are accredited with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).

DAHA accreditation is the UK benchmark for how housing providers should respond to domestic abuse. It is the only project in the UK offering domestic abuse accreditation for the housing sector.

Talking about our accreditation, Sharon Crosby, DAHA Senior Regional Lead says:

“Havebury has demonstrated that they meet all eight standards of the DAHA accreditation framework by providing not only a response to domestic abuse that is trauma-informed and survivor-led but also by investing in training and systems that help staff identify the early signs of domestic abuse to know how to have conversations about this with both residents and staff and to share information per the co-ordinated community response to improve outcomes for those experiencing domestic abuse and their families.”

What does this mean for our residents?
Put simply, if a resident needs to reach out to us because they, or someone they know, is a victim of domestic abuse, our team will be fully trained to support them.

We were the first housing association to sign the Anti-Racism Charter.

“We are proud to be the first housing association to sign the Anti-Racism Charter. It is a strong fit with our core values and missions. The Charter includes championing a racially diverse workforce and providing training for our team. We look forward to promoting this over the next 12-months.”

You can view the Charter here.

UNISON Eastern regional organiser, Winston Dorsett, said:

“Havebury should be congratulated on becoming the first housing association to make this real commitment to equality. Anti-racist workplaces are better workplaces — this won’t just benefit Havebury staff but the association’s residents across the east of England.”

Delivering great services requires the support of a great team – and in 2024/25, we were proud to feature on several Great Place to Work – Best Workplaces Lists, including:

We are proud to have signed up for Stonewall Housing‘s LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge. We are currently working towards our Pledge Plus accreditation.

We’ve worked with Powered by Diversity to deliver bespoke Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training across our teams. They also joined us at our 2024 team conference, and we now have access to their Cultural Calendar, which provides a year-round programme of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion talks and events.
