Our policy does not require everyone to request permission to keep a pet, providing they meet specific requirements.
This means we will not unreasonably refuse permission to keep a pet in your home, but we must consider if it is fair for you, your neighbours and the animal you would like to keep.
If you own an XL Bully dog (regardless of whether you need permission from us to keep it in your home), you will still need to send us a certificate of exemption. Please send this to myarea@havebury.com.

Do I need permission to have a pet if I have my own garden?
If you have direct access to a secure garden for your exclusive use, our permission is not required for one dog and two cats. You will need to complete the application if you wish to keep an additional animal.
Do I need permission to have a pet if I don’t have my own garden?
If you don’t have a garden for your exclusive use, you will need to seek permission to keep a cat or dog at your home.
Do I need permission to get a fish tank or a caged bird/animal?
No, you will not need our permission for these, but we may still ask you to rehome these pets should they cause any nuisance or cause damage to your home.
I live in a flat, can I have more than one pet?
This will depend on your circumstances, pet type, and home.
I want to keep chickens, is this allowed?
You can apply for permission to keep chickens by writing to us, or emailing myarea@havebury.com. If you want to build any housing for the chickens, you will need to apply for permission here.
