Assisted gardening and decorating scheme

If you are a Havebury resident over 66, or if you have a disability with no-one to help you, we can assist you with grass and hedge cutting, along with decorating one room each year.

To be eligible for supported gardening, you must:

  • Be over 66 years old OR a claimant of enhanced disability benefit such as; personal independence payment (PIP), disability living allowance (DLA) or attendance allowance (AA). You will need to provide us with proof that you receive this benefit.
  • Have less than £1500 in savings.
  • Have no support from family or friends that could maintain your garden on your behalf.

For further information, email our independent living team on independentliving@havebury.com.

Specialist home improvements

We can carry out minor adaptations like fitting of grab rails, lever taps and additional stair rails.

For all major adaptations, including level access showers and stair lifts, your local council offers a service that assesses your home and recommends changes to help. A home assessment is free, and you can find out how to get one here.
