Changing your tenancy type
Applying for a joint tenancy
If you would like to add someone to your tenancy you will need to complete a form by clicking here.
Your tenancy changes will not be completed until the Neighbourhood and Estates team have spoken with both parties named on the application and confirmed that the request is agreed by everyone involved.
Once the relevant checks have been completed, and if the application is approved, a Deed of Assignment will need to be signed. We will contact you to arrange an appointment for this when appropriate.
It’s important to note that we will need to see Original copy of Marriage / Civil Partnership Certificate, or, Evidence of residency at the property for the previous 12 months, AND Evidence of applicants Right to Rent. You can find out about what evidence we will accept here.
Once you have submitted your application, it will be reviewed by a neighbourhood housing officer. They will be in contact with you to arrange a face-to-face appointment to verify your right to rent and your identity.
