Your fencing questions answered.

  • My fencing is dangerous and 12 months is too long to wait. What can I do?

The well-being of adults, children and pets in your garden is your responsibility. If you consider the fence to be dangerous, please report this to our Repairs team. One of our technicians will inspect the fence and advise whether we can make temporary repairs. We will also offer to remove the fence, but please note that we still may not replace the fence within 12 months.

  • What will my new fence look like?

Public boundaries – we will put up a 6ft timber fence

Dividing boundaries – we will put up a 3ft chain link with a 6ft privacy panel

  • What happens if the fence is shared?

Unfortunately, if the dividing boundary is shared, we cannot enforce a homeowner to contribute.

If we jointly own the fence with a neighbour, we cannot repair or replace it without their permission.

Likewise, they cannot repair or replace it without ours.
