We have a new strategy for these grants from 2022, which you can see here.
After a successful 2022, our 2023 Community Investment Grant applications are now open.
Following consultation with our residents, we have changed how we manage the Community Investment Grant. The maximum amount you can now apply for is £5,000; this is to ensure that our grants reach as many of our communities as possible.
Applicants who have received funding in the financial year 2022/23 can only apply again in January 2024.
If you would like further details or would like to apply, please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our criteria for funding:
- Your project must be for the benefit of the community on a not-for-profit basis.
- It must identify a specific need.
- It needs to be within five miles of one of our homes or estates.
- You will need to provide a detailed financial plan.
Some of the projects we have previously funded include:
In 2021, Combat2Coffee applied for a grant of £2,742.66, which they put towards improving the kitchen at their new location in Bury St Edmunds.
Combat2Coffee is the brainchild of former Royal Anglian soldier Nigel Seaman.
Major Ian Robinson, Nigel’s former regiment colleague and Combat2Coffee volunteer, explained: “He had the idea that if you sit and have a chat over a cup of coffee, you can work through some of your issues. It’s not rocket science, but simple ideas tend to work.”
Horringer Acorn project
In 2020, Horringer pre-school applied for £10,000 to go towards their Acorn project. This involved the construction of a purpose-built building allowing families to get involved in nature activities, support a sensory room, increase the preschool’s capacity, and host community events.
Kirsten Goodwin, who was involved with the project, said:
“Thank you so much again to Havebury for their grant. We are enormously grateful! The project would not have been possible without it – especially as it came at a crucial time for us.”
