We have a new strategy for these grants from 2022, which you can see here.
Please note that we have no more grant availability for this financial year, and for this reason, we will not be taking on any more applications. Please check back again in April 2023 when our new application cycle is due to start.
Our criteria for funding:
- Your project must be for the benefit of the community on a not-for-profit basis.
- It must identify a specific need.
- It needs to be within five miles of one of our homes or estates.
- You will need to provide a detailed financial plan.
Some of the projects we have previously funded include:
Combat2Coffee
In 2021, Combat2Coffee applied for a grant of £2,742.66 which they put towards improving the kitchen at their new location in Bury St Edmunds.
Combat2Coffee is the brainchild of former Royal Anglian soldier Nigel Seaman.
Major Ian Robinson, Nigel’s former regiment colleague and Combat2Coffee volunteer, explained: “He had the idea that if you sit and have a chat over a cup of coffee, you can work through some of your issues. It’s not rocket science, but simple ideas tend to work.”
Horringer Acorn project
In 2020, Horringer pre-school applied for £10,000 to go towards their Acorn project. This involved the construction of a purpose-built building allowing families to get involved in nature activities, support a sensory room, increase the capacity at the preschool, as well as be able to host community events.
Kirsten Goodwin who was involved with the project said:
“Thank you so much again to Havebury for their grant, we are enormously grateful! The project would not have been possible without it – especially as it came at a crucial time for us”
